Faculty Director and Advisor
Samuel Moyn is a professor in the History Department. He works primarily on modern European intellectual history — with special interests in France and Germany, political and legal thought, historical and critical theory, and Jewish studies — and on the history of human rights. His newest book, The Last Utopia: Human Rights in History, is a critical examination of the origin of human rights.

Jonathan Blake is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University. His research focuses on the intersection of ethnic and religious identity, conflict, and development, particularly in Africa.
